Me too, although I played with other peoples stuff as often as I could
talk my way into a spot in front of the machine.

That's not too shabby Dean. But do yourself a favor and prowl the Lowes
display around the Dremel stuff. I picked up a solid carbide bit the
other day that tapers to a draw blood from your finger point from a 1/8"
shank over the last 3/8" or so. My guess is that with that, you could
cut every groove the the checkering file will finish at 24 tpi if you
wanted to go that fine, and require not more than a stroke of the
checkering tool to clean up the frayed wood.

True, but I think that Dremel bit will get you a few hours closer to done.
You have quite a bit of finish time there yet. My problem with my lttle
mill is the 2000rpm max spindle speed, that bit screams for 30 grand,
darnit.

The acid test of course is when its screwed into place, then how does it
fit the hand...

I need to do something to bulk up the grips on my Undercover, that thing
is pretty hard on the hand when you fire it enough to qualify for a cwp
in one set.
