Thumbs up on the G203V's from me - I already saved the cost of a drive doing a
stupid thing and the drives don't even get warm with my heatsink and fan. I
have read a lot about the quad pack coming out but I like my individual drives
- if I manage to torch one (nothing is imposible) I only have 1 to replace.
Kinda like when my boss insisted we get an all in one printer and then found
out why I washed my hands of that decision... But John got it all correct to
my knowledge. The only bad thing I have ever read about a Gecko is their servo
drives are basically stepper drives and don't give you the benefits of a servo
system.
I'm running 53VDC on the G203Vs and getting great results - the motors never
get beyond warm, even on complex engravings. I wouldn't do anything different.

Kirk,
I used the G203v for my plasma table. Very nice drive. The step/direction
timing for the 203 is faster than the others. If your limited to a 45V power
supply I would use the 540. It is 4 203v's shrunk into one package for $299. It
should be out any time. The 201/2/3 all take 10 micro step input.
The G210/212 has a built in STEP PULSE MULTIPLIER. This circuit makes it
selectable for full-step, half-step, 5 microstep and 10 microstep operation.
