I'll second all of that.
I use a continuous rotation on a couple of parts I've coded, so that 0 
follows 270 going FORWARD, while on other parts going BACK to 0 from 270 
  is the correct direction. 360 upwards would be another 'acceptable' 
way of coding continuous stuff but should not be 'essential' ... a 
switch between 'absolute' and 'continuous' IS essential.
