Not quite.  The touch pad is basically a spring loaded ground piston, moving
up and down a cylinder (base).  It has magnets in the base and is set to
50mm +-0.005mm.  I use it as a relative touch point, and to set the tool to
be exactly 50mm above the vice.

I'm not claiming it is good value, but it is a bit more than just "3
switches one batery and LED".  I don't think I have the skill to make
something that precise.  (I know I don't have the skill, or tools, to repair
it).
