This is due I suppose to the nvidia blob not supplying the OpenGL hooks.

I can recall when it did, but I believe the host then had a ATI gfx card,
using the linux radeon drivers. Unforch, Alex Deutcher put out a newer
radeon driver after AMD threw some code over the wall, and that wasn't the
only function that quit working. So I broke down, cried a lot, and bought
a Nvidia 9400-GT and installed it. On the bootup, dkms detected the nvidia
card and installed the latest driver from nvidia, which except for this,
has worked flawlessly. Since nvidia now updates their driver monthly, that
has continued and its about due for another update.

ALMOST everything I have wanted to do, PCLOS has been able to do EXCEPT its
libxml2 is about 2 years old, and the latest Quartus package for
programming the Altera DE1 FPGA board will not install due to the older
versions missing gzdirect call. Apparently I am going to have to dl the
srcs and build it myself. But when libxml2 is in the middle of darned near
everything going on at this party, I am understandably spooky.

And that won't fix this. Darnit...
