While the Joomla forum may not be the best system out there, it IS the main forum for questions and answers for LinuxCNC users, and has permanent storage of categorized info, where others can look up previous answers and follow the thread for weeks or months. You can't do that on IRC.
It sure works on Linux/Firefox, what else should LinuxCNC users be using. (Yeah, I know, the dark side.) The CNC zone foum for EMC is NOT very active at all, I monitor it about once a week, sometimes there is a new message or even two.
