If not, the company I work for uses 3D printing extensively for
prototyping parts that may wind up eventually being milled, cast, or
molded.  The short turn-around cycle of 3D printing helps with
development, and the ultimate quality and properties of the parts is
far less important than quickly having something real and physical to
hold instead of just a CAD drawing.

...especially when talking to the "look and feel" marketing folks
instead of the engineers!  :)
