Chris,
Can you elaborate some more on index homing and also on your
machines little switch. How is it wired? Perhaps that is my solution
should the machine not have a homing switch. I just got off the phone with
Dave from machmotion and apparently the drives have multiple inputs for
power. 220v in for the logic side of the drive, 220v to power the motor
thru the inverter, and then some other inputs. He said that electrically
the limits work to remove the power to the drive motors side of the drive
and the estop removed all power. He said that the enable and estop inputs
to the drive are for the computer side to control and allow you to jog off
a limit should you hit one. Honestly I am still not entirely understanding
it but apparently he is going to send me a generic mill machine setup
wiring diagram that will show how they do it. He did say that it will
reflect their control setup which will be different than my LinuxCNC mesa
setup but other than that it would all work similarly. He said that the
estop should be a complete depowering of the system if I heard him
correctly. Peace

Pete
