I'd be happy with the existing single INI file if there was a way to
pull in constants from a modular HAL file, specifically values for the
maximum velocity and acceleration that have to be fed to the [AXIS_]
sections AFAIK *ONLY* via the INI file.  And which require a LinuxCNC
restart to modify.  :(

...but I don't think that's what you're doing with HAL, and I don't
think it's possible (it could create circular dependencies).

Basically what I'm wanting is a way to pull in a few constants to the
INI file without having to show a new user (or encourage them to edit!)
the entire file.  It's very similar to Seb's issue with the example
configurations.  There is a *LOT* of repetition in the various HM2
examples, which could be collapsed into a single core file with a few
modular tweaks if the INI parsing supported it.
