Hi Jeremy. If your VFD has the Modbus Port on board (rs232 or rs485?) I suggest to you to try the *mb2hal* component (the description and the "how to" are on the Wiki). I've tested the Modbus protocol using the TCP/IP (ethernet) and seems to work just fine so the serial communication should be fine too. Can you detail the Brand and the product code of your VFD ?
