I had problems in this area, I think it is not a feature but a bug that an rotary axis cannot be set to 0 or be infinite in its rotations, the wrapped rotary docs as an option just seemed wrong for this when I last read them a few years ago. Winding back is a very slow operation and should not be needed.
There are rotaries with mechanical limits and rotaries without limits, an arbitrary large number used as a limit is a kludge waiting to bite the unsuspecting.
