No specific answers to your LinuxCNC questions, just a general reminder. If you are going to leave this oven unattended, you want some brute-force dirt-simple over temperature protection. Like a Klixon temperature switch and a contactor. No semiconductors, no software. True story: My former employer had a 40 deg C burn-in oven for testing small VFDs. Over a weekend, the solid-state relay used to control the heating element failed shorted.
