Chuckle.  That may in fact be the best idea yet if the vac didn't 
collapse that thin walled salt tank. Just put a couple sink strainers 
w/o the strainers in the lid, turn on the vac and go stick the hose in 
the bag!  But while the tank may hold its shape when its full of water, 
that lid is awful flimsy. Might have to add some reinforcing fins on the 
underside.  Doable I believe. Except I just recalled there is a good 
sized vacuum leak where the plumbing to the cat-ion tank comes into it. 
Certainly worth investigating if I decide to re-enable it.  Leaks can 
generally be plugged with enough siliglue and ducktape. :)
