My DIY router has finally reached the age where it can be trusted to
turn the tool on and off from LinuxCNC. So far I did it manually but
the thing is that instead of milling motor I want to attach foam
cutting thing that is not supposed to be on all the time so I wanted
to drive it with SSR.
There are 5i24 and 7i37TA boards, inputs are running fine but this is
the first time I want to use an output. In HAL file I have:
setp hm2_5i24.0.gpio.065.is_output 1
setp hm2_5i24.0.gpio.065.invert_output 1
setp hm2_5i24.0.gpio.065.is_opendrain 0
and later I added the same for pins 66,67,68,69,70 and 71 just for
testing purposes
I have wires attached to pins 65,67,69: 12V DC to out1+, SSR+ on out1-
and GND on SSR-, the rest are just free wires where I am trying to
measure if voltage higher than 10mV will appear.
And I cannot get any single output to work. Could it be that 7i37 is
too old? Is there a way to check if actually 5i24 pins change their
state? Cables on 5i24 are attached from bottom, so little pins are
protruding on top and 7i37 is attached to the outer plug, so I could
try to check there with multimeter if I knew what voltage levels
should I look for. I tried already for last 9 pins on that connector
and what I saw did not make much sense to me. Some pins were 5V, some
were 2,8V some were 0.03V although they should had been the same.
Any hints for somewhat reliable test method are appreciated.

I would first check tha the 5I24 is OK
Without running LinuxCNC and with the 7I37 disconnected
and the default P2 (I/O 48..71) jumpering = W1 up, W2 left
You should measure 5V on all 5I24 GPIO pins
That is, P2 pins 1..47 (Pin 1 has a square pad)
connector pins are numbered:
1 2 (1 has square pad)
3 4
5 6
7 8
