Yes, there are lots of programs out there (though I don't know of anything in Nebraska).
I teach violence prevention/child safety and self-defense to boys and girls starting at age 3. We deal with these issues (in age-appropriate ways!) and set groundwork for prevention at every level. In particular I lead a program called GIRLSPEAK that is modeled as an "innoculation" for pre-teen and early-teen girls against many of the vulnerabilities that crop up in adolescence, including relationship violence. We also have a great program here in DC that works with boys and young men (Men Can Stop Rape) that does similar trainings. You can see their stuff at mcsr.org. By the way, research on DARE (very controversial, and I'm not taking sides here) has shown it to be not very effective, esp. more than a couple of years after the initial programming. I'd be happy to share resources, networking leads, etc., with anyone who is interested.
