I am a community development worker in British Columbia, Canada. My focus
is working with rural, remote and isolated communities to support the
development of coordination initiatives focusing on responses to incidents
of violence against women. I've been doing this type of work for over ten
years in BC.

There is a wonderful rural based program on Saltspring Island, BC that is
called Saltspring Women Opposed to Violence and Abuse (SWOVA). They have
trained a group of teens to train teens anti-violence techniques in the
schools. The project is called "Freedom from Fear" and has produced a work
book that has been distributed to every high school in British Columbia.
Their contact information is: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. I attended one of their
trainings and was very impressed with their gendered focus.
