--- Begin Message ---Please note, that you have written me offlist (privately) for no apparent reason.I am tempted to to ask why, but actually I perfectly know why: because default Mozilla Thunderbirdʼs (your MUA) visual interface is totally misdesigned: it hides the only command you normally need — ‘Reply all’ — somewhere beneath a dropdown list, while displaying rarely useful commands: ‘Reply [to sender only]’ and ‘Reply [to] list [only]’ prominently. Even more, you seemingly _canʼt_ fix it by customizing the button bar. At least, the keychord Ctrl-Shift-r is always there. Iʼve remailed your letter back to the list, but from now on please keep in mind that your MUA sucks. ;-) smith_1 <smit...@chello.at> wrote: > Am 09.05.20 um 09:39 schrieb Dmitry Alexandrov: >> smith_1 <smit...@chello.at> wrote: >>> i lost my passphrase-word - how may i resolve this, reset oder create a new >>> one? >> >> To reset a passphrase you obviously need a passphrase (otherwise, whatʼs use >> in it)? >> >> Removing a keypair is possible, of course, but do not do that (at least, >> yet). >> >> Enigmailʼs UI for creating a new keypair is not so hard to find: itʼs under >> Enigmail / Key Management / Generate / New Key Pair. > > I saved a so called Wiederrufszertifikat, in english disclaimer certificate / > revocation certificate in form of [ email (0x12345678) rev.asc ] > > May this help in my concern? Yes, if you had published your key on keyserver network, it may help to mark it as revoked there, so you donʼt have to wait until it expires to ensure that nobody will find and use it. > If yes, what do i have to do? Upload the revocation certificate to a keyserver. Please note, that the only proper keyserver, that is working reliably now, is hkps://keyserver.ubuntu.com. If you have been using some other one, reconfigure. > Or is it a better possibility to create new keypair ‘Or’ is a wrong word here. > (may I then create a new passphrase)? There might be a need to switch the default key, of course; I do not remember for sure now, whether Enigmail defaults to the newest key found. > and I import theirs again? Why? No any need to do that. > Or will there be problems / more to do? Once you make sure, that you never be able to recall the passphrase, you can delete the old key. However, I would not destroy it entirely in any case, but preserve a copy of ~/.gnupg.signature.asc
