Hi guys !
It's a really interresting discussion. I would give you my point of view.

As Fabiano said, there is some essential programs missing in E World.
What i would like, would be a viewer for each kind of media. Something
really light for quickly look at the content of a media. For PDF,
photos, videos, most of the time when I browse my files, from command
line or from a GUI browser I launch a program like eog of evince and
quit it just after. But sometimes I need to work on a specific PDF
file, all the day, and need to add some annotations, comments,
bookmark pages, zoom, rotate pages .... For photos, i have to import
them, on my photo library make some albums, and it's the same for
music, or videos.

IMO we should developped/improved :

ephoto/enki : ephoto for the view of one photo at a time, and the
preview of a directory. And Enki for a complete library, import photos
from cameras and so on... Something like iPhoto maybe.
envision/epdf : or whatever the names : one for just view quickly some
pages and epdf, bigger app with every kind of features.

If we could have the same look and feel for each applications i think
that it could improve usage of E17 a lot.

Another approach i have think about , is what i could called a 'Desktop Enna'
I mean about a media browser application, that can use the
applications above to play media, and a common interface based on a
library to organized files and list them.

If you are interrested in such kind of approach let me know, give me
your feedback, we could maybe begin to write specification of such
programs, to have something really sexy.

To finish, When we were in RMLL with all guys of #e.fr we have talked
a lot about the lack of programs for E. And when people arrived to ask
us about EFL applications, we didn't have a lot of things to say :),
even if we have good commercials boys in the team :P

This problem in mind i have began to write during this weekend a video
player application, that plays one file, and nothing else. Maybe
something in the same way of KISS applications of Gustavo, but maybe a
bit more complex to write. I think that such viewer on top of efm
could be really cool.

I wait for your comments.

Regards,
Nico
