I think the probie thing is still good and useful for many people and many cases. I think they are still useful and valid. However, I don't consider probies as a bureaucratic step required for people becoming full-pledged devs. If cedric vouches for that guy, he has strong OSS background, and he's taking care of otherwise dead-parts of the EFL, I don't see a reason why not give him access straight-away. Probie is meant to be like training wheels, it sounds like Sebastian needs them.
