Oh sorry - that does sound like a different issue. Do you use a scaling factor in Settings -> Look -> Scaling? It sounds similar to an issue reported here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=895171 But I could never reproduce it.
