Hi,
I fully agree with Ian and others. We are having close contacts to
Enterasys engineering and we had close contacts to Cabletron engineering
as the past. In most of our improvement requests we had excellent
acknowledges and implementations within an acceptable time frame. Bug
reports have been processed in a generally very good reply time and have
been fixed in an acceptable time frame, too.
During all work with Cabletron/Enterasys we valued high continuity of
employees - both at engineering and GTAC. In both organizational units
employees have been very open all time.
Just for clarification: We are having other partners (network vendors),
too. So we are able to value their behavior.
On the other hand: It looks interesting/nice to have free firmware
available - but we all have to pay for high quality firmware. It's
independent whether we pay by maintenance contract, by dedicated
firmware purchase or by high hardware prizing.
Kind regards
Reinhard
