Just to amplify this point, we should all acknowledge that Paul and others
have spent countless, unremunerated hours working on these scripts. The
scripts have not only dramatically improved the utility of Entourage and
Office, but they have come with lots of teaching and personal support for
all of us on this list. It is not an exaggeration to say that we have been
provided with support far beyond that which comes with most commercial
software - and the scripters are not on the MS payroll.
In addition, it is also clear that in his role as Beta tester, Paul (and
others, I'm certain) provided us all with the benefit of their debugging
efforts. We have far less to fear from theses scripts -- which have been
carefully debugged and upgraded -- than we do from some buggy commercial
software (I'm NOT talking about E'rage or Office) which can crash our
computers and really damage our data.
The message to newbies on this list and those who are new to AppleScripting:
the scripts you find here may be some of the best and safest you will find
for your Mac; it's the scripts from other sources that you need to examine
closely.
