I don't think prices are calculated using only currency conversion, one must also factor in shipping costs and profits for Company X Australia office. Quite frankly though, Microsoft Australia has done absolutely nothing for me, the majority of User Groups in Australia or even the promotion of Office for Mac. Evidence of that is Australia's huge Mac presence on their website.
