The containing folder can be displayed by clicking and holding on the Move button; it is the first folder listed, separated from the list of 20 folders that follows as move targets. I agree that it would be nice if it were displayed in the header somewhere (there is plenty of empty space!), with no user action required to see it.
Also: I've really found that I can live without a complete popup list of folders for filing messages; or rather, I've scripted one for myself that I think is better than the Move button's method. But recently (for one reason or another) my script was broken for a number of days before I had time to fix it, and I learned to use another built-in method: 1. Type Cmd-Shift-M (easy to remember, "m" for move). A folder list appears. 2. Type two or three letters of the folder name, and the first matching folder is selected. Unless you have a lot of folders with very similar names, this works 99% of the time to locate your folder target. 3. Type Return; the message is filed!
