Define "as good a job." Making it do a better job is the point of setting up a profile for OS X. As far as I know, the only deficiency in SpeedDisk is that it did not recognize OS X system files as critical files. By setting up a profile, and singling out the major OS X folders for placement at the front of the disk, that problem is resolved. I've certainly noticed DEFINITE speed improvements on my system after defragging, especially when I've gone a long time since the last defrag.
I have not bothered to swap CDs and run PlusOptimizer to check its graph after running Speed Disk. The performance boost is enough measure for me.
