Title: Re: Need script for removing attachments
And you'll find other ways to reduce the size of your database here:  <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq/database.html#Anchor-Reduce-17304>

In addition to what's listed in this article, you can archive older mail by creating another identity for it (File>Switch Identity).  Then drag folders (and subfolders separately) to your desktop to create MBOX files, switch to your archive identity and drag the MBOX folders to the folder list.  Once the mails are transferred successfully, delete the original folders from your Main Identity.

NOTE:  When you create an MBOX file, attachments will become detached and saved as separate files.  But if you're going to remove attachments anyway, that shouldn't be a problem.

You can do it with rules. Check the criteria “has attachment” and the actions to save and remove attachments.I know this works in EvX and I believe it exists in E2001 as well.

My Entourage mail database is starting to hit the 2gig limit and it is causing a “disk full” error. I remember seeing some Apple Scripts for Outlook a couple of years ago that would automatically save attachments (both incomming and outgoing) to a separate folder so they would not be part of the mail database. Can someone please tell me where I can  download such a script?
