Well about all I can find on this is that Entourage, Explorer, and Apple all share the com.apple.internetconfig.plist. This file stores MIME/suffix mappings, some IE prefs, some Entourage prefs, and some apple prefs. Somewhere I read that apple encouraged developers to pass off calls to this file, so I think MS did the correct thing, and did as they were told. However, in retrospect, the prefs probably need to be stored in a separate location now, and it is probably a bear to go back as well. I am pretty sure the file is Base64, cause it is not humanly legible, but I can make some patterns out that sure look base64'ish to me. A whole lot of people do not notice this, as either they dont use Entourage, and wont ever have the trouble, or, dont quit entourage after explorer. It gets tricky to get Explorer to save the prefs, you have to be very religious about how you quit apps, and to be even safer, to get them to stick, it is a good idea/workaround to quit Entourage, take a trip to IE prefs, make a change, save it, open back up, change it back, save it, and then quit, that is my routine and it sometimes works :-) ------------------------------------------------------------- Scott Haneda Tel: 415.898.2602 http://www.newgeo.com Fax: 313.557.5052 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Novato, CA U.S.A. -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
