But can't you do it like this in Entourage X (it involves a couple extra steps, but nothing too demanding, and achieves the same thing)? . . . Click the top message as before. Hold down the Shift button. Start scrolling with the down arrow as before. When you get to a message you want to read, press the Command button and click on it to unselect it. The messages you scrolled past will still be selected. Do a Cmd>T. Read the message. Start again. When you're done everything will be marked as read. I can't test this in Entourage X, but try it. I can't see why it wouldn't work and I'm sure you could get used to it very quickly.
