Has nothing to do with the from/reply to, at least not on any good
mailserver. Relaying is simply sending email over a SMTP server, but there
are various flavors of relaying that become important. A open relay is a
mailserver that blindly accepts a email and delivers it while not caring a
bit about the source of the sender and its credentials. Spammers like open
relays. If you get some kind of relay error, it generally means you are
trying to send email though a server and are not giving it the correct
credentials. In some rare cases, your IP range may be blocked, and no
matter what credentials you send, you wont be allowed to relay.
