Not if the alternate port is an additional port. For example, our mail
server (Not Exchange) listens for SMTP connections on port 25 and port 2025
(many mail admins use 8025). This way, if our remote users are connected to
the 'net via an ISP that does port 25 blocking, they don't have a problem
since they connect via port 2025.

However...I don't believe that port 25 blocking is your issue since you
state that dropping back to using Outlook works fine (Unless Outlook doesn't
use SMTP to submit messages for sending).

Can you tell us more about the network setup? Behind a firewall? NATed
addresses? Are the Entourage users who can't send on the same subnet as
those using Outlook who can?
