Problem was, the "friendly IT admin" didn't have a clue either. They,
apparently, set up Exchange on the fly with defaults. They had zero clue
about their LDAP server and assorted other things. Basically, the sites we
have for Entourage and Exchange was what they used to learn more about their
server. Very nice guys, they were as helpful as they could be, but they
didn't really know what they were doing. They know MUCH more about their own
technology now than they did yesterday morning.

As of now, everything's working - well, most everything I think. They can
get mail, send mail, and check names (once they found the script that told
them what the mappings were). BTW, when we used a CN mapping, Entourage
would quit unexpectedly. When we removed that and only used DC mappings (and
once we got the correct LDAP server) Entourage happily checked names.
There's either no calendaring going on, or I'm still missing something in
the calendar feature. I don't know and they couldn't answer me. But, still,
everyone's happy. Go figure.
