Would appreciate any suggestions as to why I sometimes open email that is immediately placed in my dock w/o letting me have the opportunity to read it. I then have to open it at the dock. It happens several times a day, and I can detect nothing I am doing different when attempting to open the mail.
The only thing that puts Entourage windows into the Dock is if you "minimize" them by
- clicking the yellow middle button at top left corner
- selecting "Minimize Window" in Window menu
- using the latter's keyboard shortcut - command-M
I suspect you are typing command-M. Back in Entourage 2001 that was the keyboard shortcut for "Send & Receive All". Apple chose command-M as the shortcut for "Minimize" for all apps in OS X, and Microsoft duly complied. Send & Receive All is now command-K, and Minimize is command-M. (If you are not typing cmd-M manually, might you have some utility such as Quickeys or iKeys which is doing it for you? You can set up schedules within Entourage itself so that's not necessary anyhow.)

PLEASE always state which version of Entourage you are using - 2001 or X. It's often impossible to answer your questions otherwise.
