I think you'll find that it's really, really nice that it doesn't go behind anything. I can't tell you how many Palm Desktop notifications I missed because the notification got obscured by something else.
The other thing I would love to see added to it is an option to have an animated icon similar to the iChat alert icon. Something to catch my attention if I come back to the computer and an alert has appeared while I was away. Not too big an issue on my PowerBook, but if I were using a Cinema Display... > Thanks, Paul.
