I have no "haxie" or other screen/skin changing junk like that on my
Powerbook.

and I've run the utility-
 FontTest
and do not appear to have any bad, or duplicate fonts either.

Of course I haven't deleted Mac Classic or Classic fonts off my Powerbook
yet, but am considering it for space reasons....
the whole issue of "bad or duplicate fonts crashing (many) OS X
applications" is the biggest complaint I've got with OS X these days....
