as I stated in my original email, I already deleted all my accounts and set
them up from scratch, with a fresh/empty new Office 2004 Identities folder.

once all my accounts were added, then I imported my data (emails, contacts,
events, tasks, notes).
and the Account Properties-->Edit error  problem is still occurring.

in this case I wasn't an "upgrading" user to Entourage 2004 (per se), but
created things fresh in 2004, and only imported the data.
