I move my MUD folder back and forth several times a day as I move from
laptop to desktop frequently, using a firewire pocket drive or my iPod as
the go-between. I have been doing so for 2 years now and have never had any
problems.  I move the MUD folder only - no preference files (although I
sometimes move my SpamSieve corpus when it gets lopsided on one machine or
the other). Since I have roughly 50 accounts to monitor, IMAP isn't very
practical since it is very slow in comparison.  What problem is your user
encountering with this method?
