I move my MUD folder back and forth several times a day as I move from laptop to desktop frequently, using a firewire pocket drive or my iPod as the go-between. I have been doing so for 2 years now and have never had any problems. I move the MUD folder only - no preference files (although I sometimes move my SpamSieve corpus when it gets lopsided on one machine or the other). Since I have roughly 50 accounts to monitor, IMAP isn't very practical since it is very slow in comparison. What problem is your user encountering with this method?
