I don't think there is anything to fix in Entourage 2004. I have been
pasting since 2001, X, and 2004 and I have never had a problem when pasting
with ⌘v. All Entourage users probably use ⌘v and if it were an Entourage bug
I am sure it would have attracted a lot of attention.
Since you know of other people who have experienced the problem perhaps
there is a third part application causing the anomaly. Try a different
keyboard if you can. Maybe there is a common keyboard fault you and {a
couple} others have experienced.
A test directory may not help finding a third party application depending on
where the the application is. If you have an external drive, backup and
delete non-OS applications and utilities, one at a time.
You may have a long wait if you wait for something that is not broken to be
fixed.
