Hello List,
I'm was looking forward to upgrading from an EOS 1000FN to the
Elan 7E QD. Since it's not too late for me to cancel my backordered
backorder...
Some comments made by several List members prompts me to ask if the
"new" technology offered on the Elan 7E will be a significant
improvement.
In other words, do you think I will notice any difference?
1) Cross-type AF sensor (old camera senses vertical lines, sometimes)
2) Seven AF sensors (old camera has one sensor)
3) 4fps (vs 1fps if I'm lucky)
4) 1/125 flash sync (vs 1/90 sync)
5) Metal lens mount (vs polycarbonate that can hold a 100-400!)
6) Whisper drive (vs shutter/wind noise to wake the dead!)
On the other hand, do you think I will miss the following features?
1) Self-timer music :-) [choice of 4 'tunes']
2) Split-image focussing screen
3) Partial metering button
4) Shiftable DEP mode
