I changed from a 1000F to a 50E, and I don't regret it.

This is wonderful. I don't have to turn the camera anymore.

I very often use the non-central ones (I only have 3 AF sensors),
especially with the eye control.

Never used that.

Not really a problem in any case for me.

Nice to have it but I haven't got big heavy lenses yet :-(

 > 6) Whisper drive (vs shutter/wind noise to wake the dead!)

I found the slap of the mirror very noisy on the 50E compared to the 1000F
(which is, I think, noisier that the 1000FN). But I don't know about the
7.

But I gained a faster max shutter speed (from 1/1000 to 1/4000), a "cable"
shutter release, a real timer (one you can use in all modes), a faster AF,
AF sensor that lights up in red when focusing (handy in the dark. I
realised that when trying to use my 1000F: I wasn't able to put the sensor
on the subject ;-), a lead out rewind, a very good handling, plus others
that I am forgetting for now.

Are you joking?

Could be good.

I always found the button difficult to use.

I never use that.

Hope this helps,

Fred
