Hi,

I have heard this before and could someone with more knowledge
than me explain a little more on this in regards to the 85/1.8 & 100/2.
What do you mean when you say:

"According to Lens Works, 100 f2 is more for men portrait whilst 85
f1.8 is more suitable for females"

Sorry if this a silly question but it bugs me not to know.
In what way are they different from each other to warrant one
for male portraits and one for female portraits??

Hi Ken:

These two lens are very good. Optical wise, I like 100 f2 a little bit
more
because of its slightly warm feeling though they are both very sharp in
all
f stops. In terms of price, 100 f2 is little bit more expensive than 85
f1.8 (Basically, you're trading off abit of f-stop and money for the
extra
15mm) According to Lens Works, 100 f2 is more for men portrait whilst
85
f1.8 is more suitable for females (correct me if I'm wrong).
bottomline:
You won't be wrong in getting either one! :)

Regards,

Gary
