That would depend on what it is you are trying to accomplish. It would seem
to me that the wireless remote and the timer remote are designed to solve
different problems. They both can certainly be used as remote shutter
releases, but the main functions address different problems.

Yes. the RA-N3. It's about $45 at B&H. Might as well get a RS-80N3 for
$50. I assume the prices are similar in Europe.
