LOL!...no I am a location photographer and the less cords I stretch over
places the better....the radio slave does away with the need for long sync
cords.

I also use it sometimes when I need to fire my camera remotely.  Like during
election night 2000 I had a camera mounted on some scaffolding behind and
above where VP Gore was to speak.  This camera would have been fired with
the radio...but it never got used as he never spoke. I have also done what
the original poster was asking about doing when needing to have a person in
a shot and no models readily available.

If you go to my web site and click on the lifestyle images link the photo of
the guys playing basketball was made using the radio slave to fire my camera
which was mounted on the basketball goal's backboard.
