A lot of comments have been made by people on this and other message boards that they are still waiting for a full frame sensor like the EOS-1Ds. My question is; what is to keep Canon from introducing a line of "EF-D" lenses which fit on the standard EOS body mount but had a smaller image circle on the film plane and optics that effectively removed the multiplier penalty? Does Canon really have to strive for a 24x36mm sensor?
