Canon probably has to. > > John Lovda Well, you would be worse off if you depended on wide angle lenses. 14mm, 16-35mm, 20mm, etc., would surely need replacements. A 50mm 1.4 might make a nice portrait lens, since it covers the same area as an 80mm, but unless you're a wildlife photographer, those long teles and zooms don't need to be 1.6x longer...
