Dawkins always makes god into a 'why' question - and then says it's more productive to think 'how'. Technically I think he's wrong, though my only appeals to god in the laboratory concerned applications of Sod's Law. Physicists sometimes think they are tuning in to a cosmic code - reminds me of a prayer engine. Some gods can do anything Soc - others are limited. I tend to wonder why we are so limited and vulnerable and if this is necessary. I wonder whether religious thinking is any good (though I do some) or equivalent to looking out of the window in class (which I also did).
