Dawkins always makes god into a 'why' question - and then says it's
more productive to think 'how'.  Technically I think he's wrong,
though my only appeals to god in the laboratory concerned applications
of Sod's Law.  Physicists sometimes think they are tuning in to a
cosmic code - reminds me of a prayer engine.  Some gods can do
anything Soc - others are limited.  I tend to wonder why we are so
limited and vulnerable and if this is necessary.  I wonder whether
religious thinking is any good (though I do some) or equivalent to
looking out of the window in class (which I also did).
