Live and learn. I think I'd be performing some sheet metal fabrication to re-make that cover for the cables. That comes under the rule of the owner being able to fabricate parts for his own plane. No way would I want naked control cables running over my floor. Still, I've never seen such naked cables in all the Coupes I've looked at and a fair minority had ERCO cable kits installed. At any rate, we're agreed, buying the plane with no pedals is a good idea. Ed Burkhead http://edburkhead.com/ [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: Paul M. There is supposed to be an aluminum cover over the cables which is attached to the floor boards. this was missing and I kept getting my feet tangled up in the cables. My present Coupe was fitted for the Univair kit which also had the cables from the pedals running over the floor boards. This is why it's not installed. The installation drawing shows the cables running over the floor boards. I looked at the picture in the Univair catalog and it look similar to mine. o I assumed all the Univair kits were set up that way. I've only seen a few Coupes with the Univair kit. Perhaps there is a later kit than what I've seen where the cables and pedals lie under the floor board? That might interest me since at the moment I'm trying to collect enough Alon stuff to install those pedals. I personally don't want pedals AND control wheel steering since it's counter to other aircraft. With the straight Coupe 2 control setup I have schooled myself to use the wheel. But I'm afraid I'd get into trouble with a mix of the 2 systems. This is my preference which of course probably runs counter to every one else's. <G> Cheers: Paul ========================================================================== == == To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm Search the archives on http://escribe.com/aviation/coupers/ ========================================================================== ==== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm Search the archives on http://escribe.com/aviation/coupers/
