Good question.  I suspect that if it started coming loose, it would stay
in
place until all screws broke through.  Centrifugal force and wind pressure
wouldn't allow it to break off on one side and bend out at a 90 degree
angle. (at least I don't think so)  Fact is, I'm surprised that it would
come off at all, while in flight.
