Dictator Daley's statement is such manure! He destroyed the airport under
the cover of darkest with a police escort so there would not be a lengthy
debate? Isn't he obligated to those debaters? At least those from
Chicago.
A few airports around DC are closed currently too, but nobody bulldozed
the
runways. And the whole argument regarding public safety is so lame that
under other circumstances it would be laughable. Let's see, terrorist
flies
to Chicago, stops short at Meigs to pee, grab a $100 Burger, log a couple
tough & go's then continues on with his C-152 to take out a office
building. Geez...it ain't going to happen that way.

If memory serves, excluding Sep 11, the preferred means of delivering
explosives to the terrorist target would be the ubiquitous "Ryder" truck,
it
have a much larger payload and takes less training to deploy. To be safe
we
should really close all rental truck centers....:-(

If you're going to lie so boldly and so outrageously as to be totally
unbelievable, you might as well come out and tell the truth. The water
front property will bring in more revenue with offices and apartments than
a
GA airport can. Parks and nature preserves my ass, there is only one thing
on his mind...money. No matter what the PR budget needed to make this go
away is, it will be a drop in the bucket compared to the revenue that the
city will make off that piece of land. And since there is a war going on
to
grab the front page, many no-flyers in Chicago may not even realize it
happened.

Flight by machines heavier than air is unpractical
and insignificant, if not utterly impossible.
