Was there a vote on where next year’s National Convention will be?

Hi Ed,
I'm sure that our fuel figures are a combination of a lot of factors. Actually, Dennis was exaggerating a bit. I had 4.5 gallons/hour and he had 6.5. Another Couper flew with us from Daytona Beach to Lawrenceville, GA, and his fuel consumption was a little worse than Dennis'. Engine efficiency would also be a factor.
We missed you at the convention.

Overly rich mixture on his engine (oroverly lean on yours) or both might account for a big portion of thedifference.4.25 versus 6.25 is a BIG difference.Ed Burkheadhttp://edburkhead.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]-----Original Message-----From: Sydney Cohen [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]Sent: Thursday, June 26, 2003 9:48 PMTo: Greg BulloughCc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Coupe-ListSubject: Re: [COUPERS-FLYIN] morning groupHi Greg,Dennis' Coupe has more drag due to two large venturis as opposed toone small one on mine; landing lights on the gear legs, and I have none;a bubble windshield and mine is flat; more antennas than mine; and nonose gear fairing, but I have one. Also, in order to go the sameairspeed with the added drag, he would have to be turning more rpm. Ibelieve his tachometer reads low, maybe 100 rpm or more. Neither of usleaned, and he didn't follow directly behind me, so I don't think he wasmaking a lot of power adjustments. I think the drag is the reason. Idon't know his empty weight, but remember, I was carrying a passengerand he was not. His carburetor could be set richer too. No, I don'thave an EGT, but have had no problems with valves or oil temps. Infact, my oil temps were usually about 10 degrees less than Dennis'.SydGreg Bullough wrote:At 10:46 PM 6/25/2003 -0500, Sydney Cohen wrote:We both have D models, both have 85 hp engines, both have 71 x 48props, both ran 2450 rpms, both flew at the same airspeed (we weretogether) and I had a passenger and Dennis didn't. That said, 4.25 gph at cruise issuspiciously towardsthe lean side of things except at 10,000 feet. Do you have an EGT?Greg==============================================================================To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htmSearch the archives on http://escribe.com/aviation/coupers/
