You're absolutely right. If you look in the Ercoupe Service Manual on page 51 or in the Ercoupe Parts Catalog on page 34 you will see how your instrument panel came from the factory. It was like this up to Serial No. 4423. Page 36 in the parts catalog shows the throttle quadrant, from Serial No. 4424 and up. Someone "modernized" your instrument panel.

To All,My 1946 415c, S/N 1462, has a throttle quadrant control on the instrument panel which I'm questioning as the original design or if it was added from a later model? There is an obvious place for mixture control, but it is located below the temp. gage on the left side of the left control yoke.
